Luis Gustavo Vechi

Over 25 years passionate about supporting people with all walks in life to fulfil their potentials and goals, Gustavo has been helping his clients to better cope with their mental health issues and to capitalise on their strengths.

 

Drawing on different psychological models, including the psychodynamic, cognitive behavioural (CBT, ACT and DBT) and EMDR therapy, Gustavo is informed by an integrative & collaborative approach. This has been developed during his years of private practice and work in public mental health & forensic services in Australia, New Zealand and Brazil, where he has also lectured in Psychology for 10 years.

Collaborative practice; respect to singularity, diversity & people’s rights; transparency; propriety and integrity are among his core practice values. In addition to couple therapy, Gustavo is highly experienced in psychological services for adults with depression, anxiety, psychosis, grief, trauma-related problems, adjustment disorder, ASD, existential & interpersonal issues, psychological problems due to physical illness (including TBI & concussion), pain management, chronic illness management, among others.

With a master’s and a PhD degree in Psychology, Gustavo is registered as a Clinical Psychologist and a full member of the Australian Clinical Psychology Association (ACPA) and the EMDR Association of Australia (EMDRAA).

 

Gustavo has authored books and peer-reviewed papers in Psychology. In addition to his private practice, Gustavo works as a Senior Clinical Psychologist at Alfred Health.

 

In his practice at The Harvest Clinic, Gustavo offers online appointments for adults, both in English and in Portuguese.

As an AHPRA Board-approved Supervisor, he provides supervision to Psychologists, Registrars in Clinical Psychology (Primary Supervisor) and other health professionals.
