Laura brings a depth of clinical experience and scholarly commitment that is rare in private practice. Her approach is thoughtful, relational, and grounded, she creates a space that feels genuinely safe for exploring difficult material, particularly for those carrying the weight of complex or longstanding trauma. Laura works collaboratively with her clients, moving at a pace that honours both the work and the person doing it. She believes the therapeutic relationship itself is not just a vehicle for change, it is often central to it.

With over a decade of clinical and research experience, Laura has worked across a range of settings including private practice, career transition, and specialist veteran mental health services. Her most recent role at the Veteran Health Association saw her work primarily with ADF veterans presenting with PTSD and comorbid conditions within DVA Mental Health Treatment Pathways, an experience that deepened both her clinical expertise and her commitment to trauma-focused work. Laura is currently completing a Master of Science in Trauma-Informed Psychotherapy at the University of Sydney, reflecting the continued direction of her practice.

Laura holds AHPRA general registration as a psychologist and is certified in EMDR at Levels 1 and 2. She is particularly drawn to longer-term relational psychotherapy with adult clients, work where the ongoing therapeutic relationship is as much a part of the healing as any specific technique or modality.

Her areas of practice include:

  • PTSD and complex trauma

  • EMDR and trauma-focused psychotherapy

  • Anxiety and depression

  • Relational difficulties and attachment concerns

  • Veteran and DVA-funded mental health support

  • Life transitions and adjustment

  • Grief and loss

  • Self-esteem and identity

  • Burnout and stress

  • Longer-term relational psychotherapy

Laura's approach is integrative and relationally informed, drawing on Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (TF-CBT), Short-Term Dynamic Interpersonal Psychotherapy (STDIP), and longer-term psychotherapeutic principles, underpinned by a trauma-informed and attachment-focused lens.
