Lisa Lashansky.jpg

Lisa is a registered psychologist with a strong counselling background and has years of experience working with clients who bring a range of different issues to explore in their sessions.

She creates a supportive and collaborative therapeutic environment and focuses on using each client’s strengths, know-how, and life experience to bring about deepening insights and effective change. Along with her knowledge and experience, she brings a helpful sense of humour and dollops of common sense. She also has a teaching and training background so that brings a beneficial structure to the sessions.

Lisa works from a Rogerian client-centred perspective and includes the following as some of her approaches: psychodynamic and attachment framework, solutions focused, problem solving, strengths outlook, positive psychology, cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT), narrative therapy, motivational interviewing, transition across the developmental lifespan, a systems focused view, and psychoeducation.

She has a particular interest in the following areas: relationships, the workplace, family dynamics, parenting styles, young adults, men’s mental health, and the impact of life transitions.

A little bit of background information about Lisa: she grew up in Cape Town, South Africa and then moved with her family to Australia approximately 25 years ago. Her children are now adult and have their own families, so when Lisa is not having an online session with you, she might be planning a family visit, cooking something in the kitchen or having a quiet, flavourful coffee.

Lisa looks forward to working with you.
