Bio

Ivannia is gentle-natured and empathic therapist, who has devoted the past 14 years to working alongside adolescents and adults to improve their overall wellbeing and coping, as well as to inspire hope.  She has a broad range of skills to treat PTSD/C-PTSD/DID, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, personality disorders such as at-risk behaviours, pro-criminal attitudes, addictions and trauma.  Ivannia works with adolescents and adults who are looking to identify and work with the undercurrent of their symptoms, to develop insight, increase self-awareness and learn adaptive coping skills.  Her trauma-focused approach allows clients to tap into their innate healing mechanism in order to process any past trauma that may be adversely influencing current perceptions and behaviour.

Believing that one approach that does not fit all, Ivannia is committed to developing a collaborative and supportive therapeutic alliance with her clients, where a combination of modalities will be considered to fit the presenting issues.  Ivannia is trained in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing, Internal Family Systems and Schema Therapy.

Ivannia’s other passion is to provide a supportive space to nurture and encourage provisional psychologists in meeting their internship requirements and helping them grow in confidence.  She also provides supervision to mental health professionals in other disciplines, particularly in the early stages of clinical practice.
