May has worked in the public health sector for NSW Health for 7 years where she initially started as a provisional psychologist in training and went on to attain her full endorsement as a Clinical Psychologist and Board Approved Supervisor. She has worked in both inpatient and community settings within a range of acuity levels.
May also has extensive experience providing psychological services utilising the Telehealth and online modes of delivery. She has worked in the online space since 2020 and believes strongly in timely and accessible psychological services that work towards enabling clients to maintain their day-to-day functioning whilst still being able to improve mental health and wellbeing.
May’s educational history spans 6 years in the field of psychology. Obtaining both her undergraduate and Honours in Bachelor of Psychological Science from the Australian College of Applied Professions (ACAP), she went on to complete her specialist training for the Master of Clinical Psychology at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS). Her dissertations focused predominantly on bereavement, grief, and loss.
May has had extensive experience working with clients with complex psychological difficulties, including but not limited to, personality disorders, trauma, psychosis and delusional disorders, anxiety disorders, depressive disorders, eating disorders, chronic pain, and grief, bereavement, & loss. She is a specialist in Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) and has 8+ years experience in this field. She utilises Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), along with a combination of CBT, ACT, and Schema therapies.
